Ofcom’s recent research suggests that while some UK VoIP providers offer the facility, some home VoIP users of other suppliers may not be aware that they cannot make a 999 call.

Ofcom is said to be working closely with their European counterparts to develop comprehensive VoIP access to emergency services across Europe.
