Google is to make complaints to the FCC about what they see as Verizon‘s non-compliance with the open-access requirements of their 700Mhz spectrum license.

The 700Mhz license which was won at auction by Verizon requires that they do not restrict the devices which can be used to connect to the network. It seems that Verizon may be trying to implement some restrictions and Google, who are likely to soon release an Android based phone, aren’t happy about it.

The 700Mhz spectrum allows for a contiguous wireless network, ideal for mobile VoIP devices, to operate across the continental United States.
